HONOLULU -- Rear Adm. Sally Brice-O'Hara, commander of the Fourteenth Coast Guard District, and boating safety partner agency personnel join Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann in the signing of the Safe Boating Week Proclamation May 1, 2008, aboard TheBoat.
North American Safe Boating Week for the city and county of Honolulu is May 17-23 and is celebrated every May as part of an annual campaign to educate the public about safe and responsible boating. The goal of Safe Boating Week is to encourage recreational boaters to ensure their vessels have the required safety equipment onboard and to observe both state and federal boating safety laws.
